A combination of an inappropriate timeslot and a general lack of interest must surely have finished it off. Still, for a show which never seemed hugely popular in the first place it had a decent run. I saw a few minutes of an episode recently - have never watched it before - and it just seems a bit...well, unreal. The sets looked a bit odd, sort of larger-than-life and surreal (all bright primary colours) and the acting was....interesting.
